Labrador Retriever History

Was originally called St. John’s Dog (also called Newfoundland dog) and first documented under the name Labrador in 1839.

Labradors were considered “workaholics” and enjoyed the retrieving tasks given to them which made them ideal hunting companions and sporting dogs.

German Shepherd History

The Appearance of a German Shepherd Lab Mix

Hybrid dogs inherit their appearance traits from both parent breeds.Traits that parents have in common (like eye color) usually show in their baby. And other traits can be less or more dominant. (like ears, muzzle, and tail.)

For example the tail can either be fluffy like the GSD’s or thick like the Labrador’s tail.
